She's hard to get started
She's always so cold
In the mornings I find her -
She's looking so old
There's so many miles
I've been down that road once or twice
She's not much to look at
When we ride thru town
But I know when the chips fall
She won't let me down
She knows how to run
And she don't run around on her man

She's a high flyin' lady
She takes me where I want to be
There's no other woman
Standing between her and me
I'll always be faithful
And keep her 'til the end of time
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine

I've seen fancy dressers
And they've caught my eye
I rode'em to ride'em
Then I told them goodbye
I flirted with Low Riders
Sportsters and Shovelheads too
I cussed her and beat her
And kicked her to just get her started
A couple of times
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine.

there is a certain sexiness about a FLH Panhead, like this 1965.

And if she breaks down on the highway you can always find a way to fix her with what ever handy. We were at the Sturgis MC rally in 82 and about 20 miles north of Custer City when his clutch started slipping. I forget now just what the problem was but we had to completely remove and disassemble the clutch. He thought he was SOL because in order to put the it all back together we needed an oversized washer to compress and hold the clutch plates, bearing plate and all the little springs in place. I started looking around and discovered that the South Dakota highway department had just the right size washers on there highway signs. About an hour later and we were in-da-wind again…

A friend of mine has a 67 Pan Shovel Police Special and it has that same rack on the back. With much care and effort he restored the bike.







She keeps complaining that her butt is turning square for some reason...

I have seen pan/shovels that had pan head on the rear cylinder and a shovel head on the forward cylinder combination. Definitely a eye catcher..

"Panheads" are a little hard to come by these days.$$$$$

However, Kawasaki Vulcan 1500's are dirt cheap.
