| Civilians | Please read posts 6/30/05 "headlight problem Attn: Mike Romain" for details. Mike I could not find a grounding strap. I looked high and low. I did find a ground wire from the battery to the fender wall and that was find, also checked connectiond at starter, also fine. My next thought was to run a wire from the battery to the ecm, I would ground it to the outside box itself. Would it be worth installing a new ecm? Could that resolve the "service engine" light with the cam sensor code and the headlight problem? I am disabled with little resources and have been a single fulltime dad with two great daughters at home for 14 years. I was a mechanic for about ten years until my health failed. That was ten years ago, things on cars sure have changed. Thank you for all your advise, I really appreciate it. Please keep the suggestions coming. Another question on another vehicle: 1990 GMC Suburban. Brake light is on. It is not the parking brake. Brake fluid full, it has rear abs, replaced the abs control module, Light is still on, disconnected battery and light will stay off for about ten mins, then it comes back on. If you drive the vehicle for a long period of time the light will flash like a code, I don't remember what it was flashing but it has stopped. I never heard that a braking system could store or record codes, or maybe it is not even a code, brakes work fine. Any thoughts on this one? Thanks Brian |
