Default How to get subwoofer unit out of dash?

Hi, folks...

The subwoofer speaker in my 87 GT is shot (sounds like a loud fart).

I took a look at the subwoofer enclosure, and all I see are two bolts
holding it in (one screwed to the chime bracket, the other bolted to a
bracket that also holds the bottom corner of the dash in place).

I removed these two, and the subwoofer moves around, but I can't for the
life of me manuver it to a point where I can get it out.

What's the secret to getting this thing out? Do I have to remove the entire
dash to do it? What am I missing?

There's a port tube that goes up inside the dash, no need to
remove the tube from the enclosure, but the tube can pivot
at the point where it joins the enclosure. Make sure you
have removed the convenience center, that's the bit the
horn relay and blue chime unit attach to. Also make sure
you have disconnected the speaker wiring harness. It should
come right out with some wiggling.
