| Civilians | On my 1995 Pontiac Grand Am I keep getting mice in my heater blower cage, and they put paper scraps in it that stops the blower from working. I had to pull the blower out and vacuumed it out about 4 times this winter. My question where is the air intake that they are getting inside. Can I put a screen over it to stop them. I think they are getting in under the hood. |

If the cowl is in good shape, they can't get in that way - unless they are very, very small. Perhaps they are getting in through the water drains on the sides of the cowl firewall area? How did you get the blower out? Its normally cut out with a saw and a new one screwed in. |

Husband discovered him while at gas station topping up the windshield washer fluid. That rat now has a new address somewhere around the gas station! But why would a Rat want to move in under a car hood? And what is a Rat doing with acorn shells? Glad he didn't poke his nose out at me when I was driving! -- Cheers! Jan |

I think its the heat from the engine... keeps them toasty warm. Most we get in AZ is cats sleeping under cars when its winter, they must like the radiated warmth from the engine and exhaust system, plus nobody can sneak up on them. |
