| Civilians | These are pressed in.....I think it's metric threaded. I have removed these before by using a metric stud,threaded in, vise grips on the end of the stud at a 90 degree angle, and gently and SQUARELY tapping on the vise grips with a hammer. Another method could be using a large socket ,the rod and a nut and several washers to pull it out as you tighten the nut. Best of luck....it's a pain....and watch out for the ball bearings on the upper and lower part of this section,they tend to fall out of the bearing cage.
