| Civilians | I have 2 spare winter tires for my van. Is it a bad idea to mix two winter tires with 2 all season tires? I would put them in the front (front wheel drive Venture van). Also, will winter tires improve my stopping distance on icy surface or are they only good for stopping on snow surface? |

I'm not sure about using snow tires on the front of a FWD, would it corner, or will the lugs fight the sidewall. You could use them on the rear, if they grind in front. I like to run worn out snows on the front of my RWD Chevy. New snows don't work that well, worn ones seem to combine great directional stability with an acceptable ride. |
