Joe posted a load of irrelevant 0-60 and 1/4 mile stuff.

Joe and to all others who this may concern, the acceleration performance of
a road vehicle is one of the minor criteria to be considered in the
selection process.

While 0 to 60 time and distance is important to some, 60 to 0 is more
important to all. From 1 gallon of fuel to 0 vs miles elapsed is very
important now that gasoline is approaching $2.00 per. MTBF of the vehicle
is important for anyone who intends to drive his car farther than he cares
to walk back. Load capacity and range is important.

Yes, there is much more to think about than how much rubber you can patch
on the roadway. If that is you only consideration, than a '57 Pontiac
would rein supreme to this day.

Approaching? Haha

I pay 93.9 cents a liter to fill up.

Ends up being $3.55 local per US gallon.

$2.56 American per gallon for self-serve regular. If the exchange rate was
****tier (which it was up until recently) it would be even higher.

Uh, we are now paying $2.20 per gal in north seattle, thats
with NO exchange rate, of course.

That's REG the 928 wants fuel that costs up to 2.42 depending on
the station.

Blechh!

Nomen,
While you make some very important points about the importance of 60-0
times and MPG performance, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile stuff is relevant to
every day driving. Also, it was relevant to the original discussion
which has by now been forgotten.

The PT Cruiser Turbo comes with standard anti-lock brakes and stops
from 60-0 in 125 feet. Which beats a Honda Accord which stops 60-0
MPH in 133 feet.
http://tinyurl.com/2j8fy

A closer competitor to the PT Cruiser in terms of size is the Pontiac
Vibe (still smaller than the PT Cruiser) and that still takes 135 feet
to stop.

But I suppose if you want a really safe car you'll go with a big SUV
like a Hummer. But then that's just safe for you since you'll be
destroying all the cars in front of you with a 0-60 of 150 feet. :-)

Hope that helps with your concerns.

Joe

Maybe. Question is, do you for any stretch of the imagination think a
democrat would not do the same thing?

Do any democrats have very close ties with the Saudi royal family?
