| Civilians | 1998 Intrigue...When the parking or headlights come on, the insturment panel lights go off (radio, odometer, hvac controls). This occurs whether the auto system turns the lights on or the manual switch. The panel lights work when the lights auto off or are manually turned off. I would appreciate any tips of where to look. BTW, all bulbs are working properly, along with the DRL's. Thanks. |

It sounds like the panel lights are not properly grounded and are grounding themselves through the headlamp circuit when the hdlmps are not on. When the hdlmps are on, the panel lights are no longer grounded and then don't work. |

If this is the case, where should the panel lights ground? And how could they ground to the headlamps when they are on a different circuit? (Just trying to make some sense of it). Thanks for your reply. |

Unfortunately, I do not know the answers to those very important questions. A schematic would help... |
