Default air bag warning light

my air bag warning light is on in my 1988 delta 88. any ideas what could be
wrong? the steering wheel cover where the air bag is located feels soft.

It is likely due to a broken clock spring in the steering column, they wear
out over years of use. I wouldn't replace anything until I had it diagnosed
by someone with the correct tools, however.

Could be a bad module ..Or some resistance or open in a wire but to be
for sure we need the codes.....
