| Jr. Officer ![]() | Personally, I think this entire deal is a media hoopla/frenzy. I can't see Dale Earnhardt Jr. going to Yates racing Ford engines, or to RCR (Junior was specific when he said that he'd go to RCR and drive the #3 after he at least won a championship). Bud signed on with Junior, and not with DEI, something to keep in mind...$$$ GP Quote:

| Jr. Officer ![]() | Holy crap....I just got proven wrong. DEI is nothing without Junior, and Martin Truex Jr. is leaving as well. I'm just sick thinking that Dale started this entire company up AS a Legacy for his children, and step-mom Teresa wants to charge them admission. Now that Junior is departing, leaving no Earnhardt to race for the team, Teresa is the "proud" owner of the world's most expensive NASCAR museum. If you're a DEI/Dale/Junior fan, it about makes you want to puke. Junior said in so many words, 'If dad were here, we'd be in a much better place' I hope Dale isn't twisting in his grave....

![]() | Truex can't leave, his contract isn't up until end of 2008, just like Tony Jr. I'd assume Dale didn't give Jr. majority ownership because he was still a young man that didn't have a good sense of business. Of course now Jr. has matured quite a bit and has a very good sense of business. He knows what needs to be done at DEI to make them better, but the b.i.c. won't spend the money and thinks she knows more about racing ![]() |

| Jr. Officer ![]() | Yeah, well, T.E.I. is going to learn the hard way, methinks. Truex has a contract through 2008, true, but there IS a clause that he can get out if both sides agree. As of now, I think the news of Truex leaving was greatly exagerated. Have not heard one little peep about that since the Big Announcement... I think I might have to cave in and buy that Dale Junior camo car...
