Default Dale Earnhardt movie

DALE

I bought the movie "3", which was not backed by DEI/Teresa Earnhardt,
I thought it was a good movie although there were some alterations to
events. This movie is backed by DEI.

The Daytona lands on 18 Feb this year...

This sounds pretty interesting. It looks like they did a documentary on his life instead of doing a "movie". It will be interesting to see how it does when it is released.

DALE THE MOVIE: Racing Into Theatres 2007
New Dale Earnhardt Documentary a "Must See" by Lori Tyler

I as well cannot view this in public. Dale was The Man to me...

RACING PERSPECTIVES
New Dale Earnhardt
Documentary A "Must See"
by Lori Tyler - Senior Staff Writer/Senior Editor
03/02/2007

NASCAR was about to celebrate what was undeniably one of the most exciting Daytona 500 races in years. Side by side, close racing took a back seat to the stunning number of lead changes that had taken place throughout the event. Then, in turn 4 on the last lap of the event, the unthinkable happened. NASCAR lost its most celebrated driver.

The sport has lived on, as has the memory of Dale Earnhardt. Many fans feel that racing has changed, while others still catch themselves looking for that infamous black number 3 machine driven by the man with the sly smile and the drive and determination to maneuver his car beyond its ability.

Earnhardt's death not only touched those within the sport, but drew in new fans, as those not familiar found themselves curious with the tremendous media coverage generated by his loss. For old fans and new, the documentary Dale The Movie is a must see.

CMT films and NASCAR Images recently released the documentary of Dale Earnhardt's life, simply titled, Dale. This film, created with cooperation of Teresa Earnhardt and Richard Childress is the first authorized biography of Dale's life and career. The film will follow the sport as it travels from state to state. It's debut took place two weeks ago to coincide with the Daytona 500, February 18, 2007.

“These unique, rolling market theatrical events, following the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series circuit, are the first of their kind and provide an incredible opportunity for fans and sponsors alike,” said Jeff Yapp, executive vice president, program enterprises, MTVN/CMT Films.

“To be able to directly tap into such a devoted fan base, with a movie on the sport’s biggest hero, is a winning combination for NASCAR, CMT Films, Chevy/GM Goodwrench and National CineMedia,” said Jay Abraham, president/CEO, NASCAR Images.

The film is narrated by Paul Newman and contains footage of Earnhardt, his family and friends, and interviews and video never before released to the public. While it is a biography, this movie captures you from the moment it begins, and takes you on a journey with Earnhardt through good times and bad and the ups and downs of life within the sport, allowing you to relive a time when racing was much different than it is today. Its tasteful yet candid demeanor leaves it hard to express in words the effect it leaves with you.

The movie allows the fan to be transported through interviews and footage through Dale's career, detailing a man that had literally nothing, yet through drive, determination and focus built an empire, a career and a legend that won't ever be forgotten.

Interviews with Teresa Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kelley Elledge and Taylor Nicole Earnhardt detail the family man, and the strengths and weaknesses of life within the sport, and the effect it had taken on each of them. It contains a candid yet proud detail of the man they all loved so dearly.

In all, this film was wonderfully made, masterfully put together and is a triumphant account of a man that became one of the most celebrated drivers of all time. Dale The Movie is a film that will quickly become the most popular biography ever made of our sport and the most popular movie ever made detailing the life and career of Dale Earnhardt.

To learn more about the movie, please visit DALE THE MOVIE: Racing Into Theatres 2007. Information about the movie, ticket information as well as a trailer of the film can be found at the site.

More on the Dale movie. I think it'll be hard for me to see this in a theater, mostlikely buy it and watch in the privacy of my home. Who knows....I have tix to the November Phoenix race, maybe I'll change my mind....but not likely.

Unhappy Re: Dale Earnhardt movie

I will rent this and watch it at home as well. Dale Earnhardt was the reason I started watching NASCAR. I saw a commercial and was hooked.

I think they should still run lap 3 of every race in silence.
