![]() | My dad is a big F1 fan. I occassionally watch. Ferrari had a crappy first half of the season though. It's been an interesting year in F1. Next year (or is it 2008) they're going to try to race at Indianoplis again. I make fun of how many cars drop out of the race and he (dad) gets a little pissed off. Phone call when they were in Turkey... Dad: hello? Me: Sup old guy? Dad: Just watching the race Me: How many cars are out of the race? Dad: It's only lap 4! Me: So what....3? Dad: click ROFL |

| Dazed and Confused ![]() | I have been an avid fan of F1 all my life. Indeed up until early this year I actually worked as a sub-contractor for most of the Brit based f1 teams (engine springs etc). I'm still not sure about the new qualifying format though? Its nice to see that Ferrari are not as domiant as they have been in passed seasons (they still get away with murder from race officals though - but thats another storey). If you look back through F1 history though, the dominant force always seems to cycle through a form of Dynasty: Maserati, Ferrari, Auto Union, Mercedes, Lotus, McLaren and Williams have all had very dominant periods. There have been a few teams that could have gone far if not for circumstances. Jordan and Stewart come to mind, they won a couple of races and progressivley go down hill, now both have been sold and re-packaged and have got even worse. So the real question is this who is going to be the next dominating dynasty? For my money one of the big hitters from the east Honda and Toyota, and Honda have the edge in experiance. P.S. whats up with Williams, they seem to be stagnant at the moment.

| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | I agree. There are cycles when one team appers dominant over the others. I would include also Alfa Romeo to your list, considering also that Enzo Ferrari started as race driver with them, to become years after manager of an Alfa team (scuderia). For the future I would see an increased involvement from the Japanese manufacturer.I believe they have all they need to made it. I do not like as well new regulations concerning qualify. P.S. Hope that at the very end they will not cancel Imola GP from the 2007 season. Last edited by Charlie; 09-02-2006 at 00:39. |

Same goes for the European GP held at Nurburgring, it is really a second German GP - The track is designed for Shumacher also, and too similar to the A1 ring and the re-designed Hockenhiem (awful track now). Anyone else remember the days when the European GP used to actually change race tracks every year (Brands Hatch, Estoril etc, etc)? ![]()
