| Civilians | The fans chose a poor way of showing their displeasure - but the reason for it is obvious. There HAS to be a better way to finish races like this. NOBODY can really be happy with that finish, after a day of exciting and competitive racing - the finish order is decided by freezing the field... a technique that is far from being mastered. From the looks that I saw, I'd have guessed that Jr was in front when the yellow lights came on - but apparently I am wrong. The people throwing the cans onto the tracks are a bunch of morons, but still the reason behind it is very legitimate. At the very least, Nascar needs to consider using the "green-white-checkers" rule like the trucks. To end a race this way is bad for the fans, the drivers, the sponsors, and most of all NASCAR as a whole. -- The Toe Pages: http://www.rubbertoe.com |
