Default Drivers out of the car during the anthem

Yep, this ONLY allows an extra 10 minutes of commercials.
It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$ with NASCAR.

Now, if only they would - instead of chatting, fussing with their hair,
checking the car, playing with their helmet....

And would someone please tell the CREWS how to behave?

§171. Conduct during playing
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present
except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the
right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress
with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the
heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note
of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is
not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same
manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

Maybe the network needs to quit panning the crews and drivers as they pick
their noses and chuckle amongst themselves and concentrate on those who have
a clue....or maybe they need to just quit panning altogether so the
cameramen can also show proper respect....????

There is an unwritten rule among production crews: There is no
such thing as needing to partake in such matters. If you're out
there doing your job, and it involves sprinting, kneeling,
squatting, crawling on your belly, or otherwise getting in
position for your next shot, that is priority 1. You do your
job and leave the proper behavior to the fans.

No disrespect meant, just the reality of "Telling The Story".
