Default Waltrip to the back

During a caution both the 9 and 15 had wrenches still on the car as they
left pit road, I heard that Casey had to go back to the longest line which I
think was 18th or 19th, but did'nt hear Mike had to go back, I believe he
came out 8th. Anybody else catch this or am I crazy.

I saw them show the wrench and then I heard them say he would be penalized,
but I can't remember him going to the back. I am sure he did, but with the
officiating Sunday anything is possible.

I noticed it myself and was amazed that when they returned from commercial
he was restarting the race in the 8th position. Isn't that an "end of the
longest line" penalty? 8th aint never the end of the longest line.

It was explained on XM radio...his penalty was a stop and go...he got lucky
when the caution came out - the stop and go took place under the yellow
instead of under green.
