I can say I don't like it, whatever the details turn out to be. I don't like the concept, period. I like a season long championship, with all races counting equally. John |

| Civilians | Sort of like the 2003 season with rule changes from week to week, huh? That way they could have four 1/4 year championships and the yearly championship. Then if they want to increase the pay outs for each quarter so the last quarter pays the most, that's fine, and if they want to score each quarter separately from the others adding special bonus points, etc, that is fine too. So lets say as an example, they gave the winners of every race a ten point bonus over what they pay now. And if they want to give bonus points to some of the cars or drivers in quarters for separate scoring that is fine too. So we could end up with four 1/4 champions and the over all champ! Or they could take the say top five from the first quarter and add them to the top five for the second quarter for a separate championship in the third quarter, and then they could take the top five from the first, second and third quarter and run the last 1/4 as a separate championship for them while running the yearly championship at the same time. Now doing all this, would take nothing aware from the traditional championship but would just add other championships as well and add much excitement. Finally a question, is this thing they are talking about apply to driver points, or owner points or both? The above could apply to both. Come on NASCAR, if you're going to do something, at least do it right! \\/ayne //\ann http://www.thepoliticaldigest.com/ |
