Exclamation Responsibilty in the Forums-ALL FORUMS !

First of all, this post is directed to all members here in the Armor Forum and is NOT meant to show any disrespect towards others.

I was reading a topic over at Military.Com forums in the Armor area regarding the post : 19D vs 11C a little while ago, the post started off fine as the starter of the post was asking about the differance between 19D's and 11C's.
Towards the end, I noticed that it turned very ugly and down right DISRESPECTFUL ! I will not go into details nor will I mention any names regarding this issue, I will have to address that some members have shown that when they are PUSHED, they let there emotions over-ride there mouths !

In so saying, ANY person on any forum has the RIGHT to ask STUPID questions BUT we members of Trackpads.Com have no right to discredit or abuse the opinions of others !

These YOUNG kids are seeking advice from others in making a decision that will live with them forever. Every question of this nature regarding the choice between 2 or more MOS's brings out the WOLVES to the forums.

The way I see it is like this:

Am that kids worst nightmare if I were a Drill Sgt at boot camp, I have a mission to perform and that is to teach these kids the Basic Skills of SURVIVAL in combat. It makes no differance to me if that kid is going to become a COOK,Medic or Infantryman ! If he can't make it through boot camp, then whatever advice You or I gave him , is meaningless !

I will not FILL a kids head full of Dreams and Glory, I will tell him/her that War is UGLY but someone has to do it! So Please don't DISREPECT others concerning the differance between MOS's, I know that it's very hard to do cause we Tankers and Scouts have alot of PRIDE but in the end, EVERYONE COUNTS TOWARDS VICTORY !

I agree completely on that issue, except one minor one. That is how you define a Stupid Question. The way I got taught in my early army career the only STUPID QUESTION is the one not asked.

As far as pride even us 11 series have major Pride just like the tankers and scouts. Unfortunately, some people in any Career Field do let their pride get out of hand.

Furthermore, being a moderator here in the Army forums, I will do my best to prevent that from happening. Anyone feel free to PM me if I somehow over look any acts of disrespect, flamming, etc.

We are not like that other site. We have rules of civility in debate and they are enforced.

Default Re: Responsibilty in the Forums-ALL FORUMS !

To all my friends here, My handle at Military.Com is SOTOPhoenix.

Regarding that matter at hand,

For whatever reason our young generation seeks military advice, I believe that the first place they seek answers is at Military.Com, sometimes when I get my interest up by way of an email update from said site, sometimes I find what others are saying. On that note, I was sort of interested in the new Chopper, the Lacota or something of that nature and I started to read the post about it, Talk about Bad-Mouthing the use of said equipment, there was a post from someone regarding the use by the National Guard units, they talked as if the NG had nothing better to do then fill sandbags for the "other" troops and other missions of that nature.

Anyway, while there, I ventured over to the ARMOR forums and the topic regarding 19D's vs 11C's caught my interest, bad mistake on my part .

What am trying to say here is, We members of Trackpads have an unoffical obligation to those seeking answers, I mean come-on my friends, You really think that since am sincere enough to really care about the young people ?

I think I said that wrong but it's like this,

Your the squad leader of a patrol, you encounter a mine field and theres no time to go around it, your only option is to send someone out and probe. There are many decisions that are running through your head right now, Do you send out the NFG and hope for the best?, or do you risk sending out one of the troops who have been in the field longer then the NFG?

What ever decision you make at that moment, your going to live with it and that means it's your Responsibility.

So, we all have a Responsibility to get the troops informed of everything we need to cover, even if it means risking taking.

( Excuse me, I hate when I rattle like this, I show more of my a$$ lately)
