How not to Ride a Camel

Specialist Gardner, Florida Army National Guard the 53rd Infantry, had always wanted to ride a camel. While on patrol of the city of Farah, Afghanistan Gardner and his buddies came across a herd of camels. During their lunch break Gardner decide to seize the moment and fulfill his dreams.

I think he should have mounted the camel when it was hunched down. The camel is not pleased!

My idea of how to ride a camel, having done so once, is not at all!

I second THAT noise! I'd rather ride a 19 swayback mare bareback than one of those bony camels. I rode one for a good distance, and never again.

I didn't go far - but a few steps convinced me that it was not my means of conveyance. I have a picture of me on a camel, and when I find it - it will be next year, since I'm doing the family bit for my brothers, sons, etc. - I'll post it. It was fun, but quite enough.

I've ridden a camel myself at a wildlife refuge and they are overrated.
