Army All Army Chess Championship

ALL ARMY CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
13-20 May, 2006

Note: The deadline for an individual registering for the competition is 15 April, 2006. Applications can be sent online or by fax using this form (right click and download), or use Form Filler for DA 4878-R and send it to kris.dalessandro@cfsc.army.mil.
The objective of the annual All Army Chess Tournament is to promote interest in the Army Recreation program through the application of mental skills that relate to military strategy. It gives soldiers a chance to enhance their combat readiness by applying learned skills in logic and strategic thinking at the Army's highest level of competition.
All Army personnel on active duty for 90 days or more are eligible to participate. We look for applicants that are strong players, are actively participating in USCF sanctioned tournaments and have a high level of tournament experience.
The location for the competition is scheduled for Fort Myer, Arlington, VA.
The Interservice Chess Championship is scheduled for 11-17 June at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL; and the dates for NATO Chess Championships are 19-26 August, 2006 at Wellington College, Berkshire, England.
Please note that you MUST play, and place in the top 6, in the All Army Chess to qualify for the Interservice and NATO Chess Championships. For more information, contact the CFSC Army Recreation Office via eMail to kris.dalessandro@cfsc.army.mil, 703-681-7204 and DSN 761-7204, FAX 703-681-7249
