![]() | Jason, "In Recovery mode on,"If you'll notice the lines attached to it's 4th point are slack. Therefore the appreciable ammount of weight is supported by the nose of the vehicle. The Barrel is just proping it in place. IMHO I dought it would tip past that point with the lines attached to it. The critical portion of the recovery process would be wheather to drag it back up over using a complex array of cables and pullys to achive the mechanical advantage needed to do so. Or simly attaching retaining lines to another similar vehicle and toppeling it in place on it's side and recovering from there. "In Recovery mode off." I made the same snap judgement when I first got the picture, upon further study and worked it out, I found that it could only lean if force was applied from the rear forward about say 3-4 feet and stop. Due to the retention cables or recovery cables attached. Personally I would have toppeled and recovered on the same level. Phillip

I never had to recover a tank in this position. Most were roll overs. One of my last recoverys in Bosnia though was pulling a 4/29 FA M-113 that was in this position via ligget recy aby about 300 feet down in a chasim. The driver and TC both knew their drills and made it out with light injuries. Phillip
