![]() | A lament on the disconnection between Fort Knox and "The Real World" got me to thinking about how you could improve training methods in your platoon or company/troop. What have you done that isn;t in a manual anywhere, that was effective? I'll offer a simple, stupid idea first. Sweeping the motorpool is about as low as you can go on the trooper enthusiasm meter, right? Another platoon leader and I would always arrange a competition between our platoons for this and other mundane tasks. It's amazingly easy to get an impartial inspector, and the prizes didn't have to be much, usually an extra 15 minutes for lunch or something. Quality of motor pool cleanup improved by 200%....
