19K OSUT obstacle course

I was just looking at the pictures of the obstacle course at Knox. Can anyone tell me more about it?

I don't know how many obstacle courses they have at Ft. Knox, but I took basic training there 30 years ago. I can't say I remember it, too well. I did both the obstacle course and the confidence course. I remember enjoying both. But, I hardly remember either specifically.

Just hang on Hollow. I'm sure that Jason will have some input on this one, he's stationed there. I've been on portions of some of them at different times (a little diversified PT), but don't remember enough of them to be of any real help.

Althougggggggh, the confidence courses on almost all posts are roughly the same. The one I did at Jackson for BT looks a lot like the one at Hood, which looks a lot like the one at Knox, which looks a lot like the one at Lewis, which......lol...

How often do you have to go through the obstacle course

Once for each course, if I remember correctly. During Basic Training, anyway.

I'd like a guided tour of the post showing where Stripes was filmed.

When I was a Plt Guide in Infantry OSUT, with some difficulty we adopted "There she was, just a walkin' down the street" as a marching cadence. Our Platoon Sergeant loved it (luckily) but another Sergeant pulled me aside to tell me he did not like it because it referred to a movie "Disrespectful to the Army."

I never did see any MP's like in the movie, though....

I think it was filmed like a few months before I got there for AIT. I saw it on TBS a few weeks ago and decided, "What the heck, why not watch a neo-classic, even if it's an edited version." Wow, all the scenes suddenly popped out at me, "Hey! I know where that is!"
I guess you'd have to be fairly thin skinned to be offended by a movie. I might have been offended if a disclaimer had run at the beginning of Stripes saying that it was as close to the facts as possible and was a fair representation of true life in the Army. But you know what? It was only a mooooooovie, lol. Too bad you couldn't have let him know it was a shame that he didn't know the difference between fiction and nonfiction.
You should see some of the support folks I seen with one of the SBCT's......yeowwwwzza..
