| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | I was wondering if anyone here participated in any of the CAT shoots. I was on the 1989 CAT team as a gunner. Had a great time. Meet a lot of Tankers from different countries. I learned a lot about the Tank. We had a team from General Dynamic to tweak our Fire control system. We also went threw a 10-day mini Master Gunner Course. The Best part was the B33R tent. HEHE. ![]() |

| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | I participated in CAT during 1991, but not as a competetor. The official US CAT team was still in gulf when CAT was going start. Instead my unit, A co. 4/69AR was chosen to "test" the range for the competiton. We were there for about a week getting the range up to par for the competition and I had a blast. It was interesting seeing the other teams (especially the Belgium tankers who had some really good looking female tankers ).The Canadians came up and drilled us on the M1A1, supposedly they had some input on their next order of new tanks and were comparing the Leopard 2 to the M1A1. I beleive their choice was for the Leopard 2. I think that 1993 was the last year for CAT, and I'm not sure if the Americans were even represented at this competition. They have a new competition, and it is for Leopard 2 only. Hopefully someone else can provide more info on this.... Last edited by neilsona; 03-08-2004 at 23:16. |

| Civilians | SFC DAVE STOUT AN I COACHED THE WINING TEAM IN 87. D/3-8 CAV. AT 301 IN GRAFF. IN 89 AS A SIMNET EMPLOYEE OUT OF FULDA, WE BUILT ALL THE SENERIOS AND RAN MOST OF THE TEAMS THRU AT SHWIENFURT. WHILE AT BERGENHOMME THE SHOOTING AND PREP WAS NOT TO STANDARD. BAD STUFF LIKE: NOT REFFERING THE TELESCOPE IF THE TIS WENT OUT. THE EMPHASIS BETWEEN THE 87 AND 89 SHOOT WAS 100% DIFFRENT AND I DONT MEAN FOR THE BETTER. DONT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER CAT SHOOTS (THINK 91 WAS CANCELLED DUE TO DESERT STORM) I LEFT FOR SIMNET KOREA TILL I RETIRED-RETIRED IN APR 2001 TO THE PHILIPPINES. GOOD LUCK TO YA! GUNS Quote:
