Primarily Mecico's military role is focused on internal problems such as the Zapista movement and Drug interdiction. At this point in time I am not sure but I don't belive it has any MBT's and if it does they are probably along the lines of the Chaffee or mabey some first generation M-60's. I hope my input helps.

![]() | Jason, If they do it was because of the US. Antiquitated yes but they may have them but remember that Mexico has many problems to deal with such as the Zapista Revolution and the Drug trade. Mexico's military is only 170,000 strong and most of it is anti-drug and anti-insurgent. Most of it's armor program is devoted to buying from the EU. Primarily France and Belgium. Focusing on Light Armor and IFV's. I hope this helps some how! PK |

An excellent source for this, and the tanks of many countries can be found at this link. While the focus is on pre-1946, as regards Mexico, you will find that many of the vehicles of the 2nd World War are still in service there...or were well into the '90's. Such as M2's, M3's, and M5's. Check the link and scroll away. (Down the left side for "Mexico") Good hunting... http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/ Last edited by Ascout; 01-29-2004 at 23:23.
