I own a M1A The National Match model from Springfield. I also have an M14D from surplus. The Springfield is a great weapon. However if you go for it, make sure you spring for the TRW Hard Bolt. Also get the E-2 Stock if you can find one. As for Mag's GE does not make them any longer. You will have to hit the Gun Shows. Any other toys you want to put on, well it's your Wallet. My advice is stay with the National Match grade weapon, you can build it the way you want. Even have the barrel cut if you want but I think you will find that you wont want to.


As for finding one try B&B guns, Turners or Fed Ord.
