Re: NASA Space Program One of my favorite summer vacations was when we drove from Dallas, Texas to Florida, and went to see the Space Center. The assembly tower had the Bicentennial red, white & blue trianglular ribbon on the side of it.
I remember walking under the transporter and being in awe of the size of the muffler, bigger than about ten cars!
Also, I remember playing the lunar modual landing video, it utilized foot and hand controls, pretty high teck back in '76. I cannot imagine what they have there now for the kids to mess with, but I'd love to try it out.
Oh, and the 'gators crawling across the road as the tour bus drove through the swamp land road to the space center....my mom wasn't overly thrilled about that!
