Snopes says that while the pictures look real, the description is not possible. The 'sailor' would have had to be in several locations, and the ship in the article was built some years later. Urban Legends Reference Pages: Pearl Harbor
They certainly look like what we saw in the newspapers at the time! I remember that day so well, and the weeks and years that followed.
