The reason 4 this email is b/c this will be the 3rd time we had to replace our radiator, when we 1st bought it, it was like $300, and we have never seen such a light weight [ it weighed about 5 pounds, at the most] made out of plastic. It is a pain to get it out too. Just wondering if anyone else has had issues like mine? |
My wife drives a Malibu 2002. Never had problems with it. You got yours used. I suggest that you go online to a Vehicle history service there are several out there. For a small fee 15 to 25 bucks they will provide a history of your vehicle. This can tell you many things. Like if it was in an accident or flooded out, there are a lot of Katrina cars out on the market. As to the Radiator. One thing I found out a looooooooong time ago. Swap out the Thermostat when changing the Radiator or Water Pump. It can save you a lot of problems. As to the radiator itself, most radiators made today are composition plastics with very little metal in them. They are ok dont worry about them if you put in a new one. The cruise control could be anything from the sensor to the cable's.
What I would suggest is that you take it to a Chevy dealer in your area and have them go thru your car. They will tell you what is going on. These newer cars with a lot of electronics built in are great cares but if one sensor goes down or if the car is submerged, you could have all kinds of problems. Up here where I live we have Rally Chevy. They have a very good crew at keeping vehicles in running order. Hope this helps.
