Banks of the Tyne = Geordie, its only the Toon Snobs reckon that to be a Geordie you must come from Newcastle. The historic records actually pretty much define it as Tynesiders (and that includes the Sand Dancers from North and South Shields!), read the link I provided or browse Wiki.
