There were special Blank rounds made for both to fire Grenade's. However if you are going to use Dummy Sub-weight Grenades standard Blanks might do the trick. However you will probably not get the full range effect.
Also you might look hard at the Launcher for the M1A/M14. There were some models made for Rifle Grenades with Bullet Traps. This allows you to use Standard FMJ to launch, If the dummy you have has a trap. You might try Gun World to obtain Manuals for these weapons or Paladin press both are online. I would advise you not to try it till you are sure.
