It is a shame...kinda brings it home, because my son is playing football. We all know there's a certain amount of risk to it...2 boys broke collar bones on my son's team this year. And last year, my son hit a kid so hard, he was taken off the field on a stretcher. I never did find out what happened to that boy...I tried, because I felt responsible in some weird way. Football is certainly a dangerous sport no matter how many rules and equipment they make for safety's sake.
