Although Burnside wasn't much of a leader, the idea was a brilliant use of gorilla tactics for that day and age! I was discussing the Civil War the other day and the use of unconventional warfare...specifically Sherman's March to the Sea. I'm no military genius, but it seems the tides of war has always favored those that used unconventional warfare.
