Default Re: Buy a Pig in a Poke?

An intelligent statment indeed! How can anyone possibly believe that surrounding a candidate for anything in gov. is a good idea? The secrecy with which both Roberts and Miers have been surrounded and cushioned is truly unfortunate. Having to look forward to the possibility of nasty surprises in the future from these people is a truly unpleasant possibility. It is only fair and reasonable for both Congress and the Public to know as much as possible before that fact rather than after. Both consvs. and libs are correct in questioning the authenticity and ability of Miers. It is the Constitutional responsibility of Congress to investigate and either approve or disapprove any appointive candidate for anything that the pres. proposes. It is also in the welfare of the nation to do so thoroughly and extensively.
