Re: After 2.5 years, one Iraqi Battalion said capable Brian, fighting terrorism is a delicate balance that one must strike. Flailing away and being slowly drained of resources, seeing rising casualties and costs, is not surprising to some folks. So far, like Iraq has turned out to be (like many worried it would) aint the answer. It isn't the smartest way to fight terrorism. We have to be honest here. No more "toeing the line" but being open and honest.
Ms. Sheehan is a few apples short of a bushel and does nothing for those who truly want a realistic solution to the mess in Iraq. I can tell you this, the "liberal" media is ANYTHING but liberal, it ias part of the conjoining of the corporate and political elite in a strange friendship, one where one benefits the other. I do believe that the Sheehan's will be the only ones given any media attention, and the end result will be no oppostion voice and a continuing struggle that won't improve with a 'stiff upper lip' as the mother country used to say. You have to have not only long term strategic vision but your battles have to be chosen wisely. This mess that was planned in Iraq is inversely proportional to genuinely fighting, to say nothing of reducing terrorism. At least thus far. We are, after 2.5 years, seeing an increase. Should be no surprise, we are in those scumbags backyards and we pissed off a few MILIION of them (Sunni's) to say noithing of leaving the backdoor open to porous borders. So far we are creating it, and by extension American casualties and deaths daily. That is not the solution either.
