While you make some very important points about the importance of 60-0
times and MPG performance, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile stuff is relevant to
every day driving. Also, it was relevant to the original discussion
which has by now been forgotten.
The PT Cruiser Turbo comes with standard anti-lock brakes and stops
from 60-0 in 125 feet. Which beats a Honda Accord which stops 60-0
MPH in 133 feet.

A closer competitor to the PT Cruiser in terms of size is the Pontiac
Vibe (still smaller than the PT Cruiser) and that still takes 135 feet
to stop.
But I suppose if you want a really safe car you'll go with a big SUV
like a Hummer. But then that's just safe for you since you'll be
destroying all the cars in front of you with a 0-60 of 150 feet. :-)
