Default Re: WANT TO BUY- T-TOP ASSY

Todd,
Just putting in my 2 cents but you may find that wanting T-Tops is
better than having them. I just bought an 88 GT with T-Tops in September and
I wish I hadn't. My car needs the driver's side weather seal replaced and
they are not to be found. In fact most of the many parts are not to be
found. The closest that I have come so far was a guy that had the passenger
side seal (NOS) that he wanted $400.00 for.
Because of the way that the 88 sits (raised in the front and lower in
the rear) you can't drive at freeway speeds with the tops off. The roar of
the wind is deafening! Also, T-Tops allow the body to flex more than it
would with a hard top. This results in a lot more squeaks and rattles. It
also results in cracking of the plastic(poor design) A and B pillar end
caps. It took me months to find replacements and now I'm afraid to install
them because they will likely also crack.
I just thought you should get some feedback from someone like me before
you go to all the trouble and expense.
